About
Lane Racing?
Lane
Racing is a family-based supermodified race team. Lane Racing is
dedicated to the presentation and performance of our team with a
goal of "get to the front and stay there." In racing you
need to be hard working- whether it's getting the cars ready, traveling
to shows, working on race day, or taking time for the fans after
the races.
Howie
and Deb Lane are the owners of Lane Racing. Howie is a business
owners, who formerly owned a trucking company and a very successful
seafood restaurant. He's used to working hard- and staying with
a task until it's complete. His family including his daughters Leanne
and Stephanie and his extensive family, have always supported his
racing activities, usually traveling with the team to races, and
providing socialization activites after the racing. Howie drove
the #97 for about 15 years. Ealier this year he donated a kidney
to his older daughter, Leanne, so he's decided to take the duty
of team manager/crew chief for the season.
Howie's
accomplishments as the driver of the #97 supermodified included
12 feature wins at Star Speedway in Epping, New Hampshire, 5 feature
wins at Lee USA Speedway in Lee New Hampshire. In 1990 Howie won
the Lee USA Supermodified Track Championship. Howie has won the
favorite driver Award-an award voted on by the fans- twice as well
as the Hard Charger Award at Lee USA Speedway. Howie's team won
the Best Appearing car and Crew the first time they raced at the
Oswego CLassic in Oswego, New York. He was the 1988 International
SuperModified Association (ISMA) Rookie of the year and has also
won a Hard charger award at ISMA. Lane Racing has also won the Best

In 2004 Howie won the ISMA Mechanic of the year award.
The
Gaszera family is the second family in the Lane Racing team. Tony
is the Engine Spealist on the team. Tony retired early after 25
years in the supermarket business and has been supervising the engine
program for the last 8 years. He's also used to wroking hard- and
staying with the task until it's complete. His wife Marsha is a
retired college professor and a sponsor whose slogan reads, Dr.
Mom Says, "School is Cool!" This slogan brings many comments
from race fans.
